Bobby and Bill’s Dry Hire Wedding – Real wedding story

At some weddings, you turn up, serve drinks, and then go home. Others are a bit more involved. This one was definitely the latter!

Initial planning stages

Firstly, we contacted them in 2021 after having a tip-off from a lovely Caterer in Bishops Castle called Tallulah’s Catering. The owner told us that a Bride and Groom were struggling to find a dry hire wedding bar staffing service.

After several conversations with the Mother of the Bride, we were tasked to provide our dry hire staffing service for Bobby and Bill’s Wedding.

There had been much planning and many changes of direction, but finally, the day arrived.

The wedding reception took place in the Bride’s family home Courtyard. The day before was the hottest in June. Sadly, the day of the Wedding bought rain – and lots of it. Still, short of divine intervention, there was nothing we could do about it.

The Big Day…

It is always a worry when you’re doing a Dry Hire Bar that there will not be enough choice of drinks to serve. No fear of that at this Wedding. The Bride and Groom wanted to have a gin bar, so we had around 20 bottles of gin. The Groom (Bill) also wanted a barrel or two of his favourite beer, which was Electric Eye from The Big Smoke Brewery in Esher. I’ve got to say; that this is one of the nicest beers I’ve had the opportunity to try—a lovely crisp pale ale with a fantastic fruity, tropical aroma.

There were some top-quality red, white, and a lovely Rose from Provence (Always the best) for the wine drinkers.

The reception was to be kicked off with a drink and canape reception of Aperol spritz, enough champagne to launch several ships, and an elderflower mocktail (that I successfully knocked up rather adhoc) for the non-drinkers!

The meal was fantastic, provided by Tallulahs Catering, and was accompanied by plenty of wine!

Time to party

After the obligatory speeches at the end of the meal, the party kicked off with music by Monsta Ball, and the bar was now fully open.

The guests enjoyed several hours of drinking and dancing, with the odd drinking game thrown in too!

In all, everyone had a great day, and we thoroughly enjoyed providing our drinks services to them. Congratulations to Bobby and Bill. We hope you have a very happy life together.
